Distance Learning 2020

We are going to use this page as a placeholder for all the information you might need to access while supporting your child at home.

Just a reminder that we are offering three levels of daily school work:
1) I can't do it today!
2) I can do it today!
3) I would like to do more things to stretch my learning today!

***************************************************************************

Level 1 - I can't do it today!

Today just have your child read for at least 15 minutes.

If you have physical books, this is the best option.
If you don't have access to physical books here are a couple of online sites we can use to access books:

Tumblebooks
https://www.tumblebooklibrary.com/
The login is our school name (just one word), and the password is student. (no capital letters for either)

Epic Books
https://www.getepic.com/app/
We have sent you each an invite to sign up for free under our names.

Level 2 - I can do it today!

We recommend about 60 - 80 minutes per day
divided among these activities.

These are this week's level 2 recommended activities.
If you haven't completed last week's activities, please do those first.

You made it! Here is the link for the last week :)

General Activities for Level 2:

1) Read - read for at least 15 minutes a day. (See above for websites if you don't have books)

2) Write - write anything! Here are some suggestions:
          - Have your child write an email to me telling me how and what they are doing. These brighten my day. (I especially love when a photo is attached). You could also have them write on paper and send me a photo of their letter.

         - Have your child write a story or non-fiction piece. We do this regularly at school, and they love writing about their own ideas.

          - Have your child write about what they are reading. Write the title, tell what is happening,  write what you are wondering, what you are thinking, what you are noticing.

3) Math -
          - Play the suggested math card games
This is a link to the rules for each of the games ->  Math Game Rules

          - Practice basic adding and subtracting facts with the free apps "Math Bingo" or "Make Ten"
